Rising high above Tomorrowland rooftops since Opening Day is the Tomorrowland Moonliner. The original Moonliner was an attraction. It housed the Rocket to the Moon attraction, which made it seem like a trip to the moon was going to be just as average as a Sunday drive in the future.
After nearly 3 years, it was decided to take down the Rocket to the Moon attraction. On November 1, 2011 the rocket blasted off into space for a final mission. In its place now stands Tomorrowland's newest attraction: The Carousel of Progress. The Carousel of Progress is Disneyland's first second-generation interative model. Guests turn the theater around to view a large mural that depicts all of miniature Tomorrowland's past attractions. No attraction goes away permanantly in Disneyland, though. On an elevated platform, just peaking over the Carousel Theater and towering over Pizza Port is a small scale replica of the original Moonliner. The Rocket to the Moon attraction is also shown on the Carousel of Progress.
